Nightmares

you're haunted by nightmares when you sleep,
and the price to wake up is very steep,
you may wander around for a week or a day,
it doesn't matter anyway,
there is only darkness,no sight of hope,
no path to follow, no way to cope,
all your horrors will come true,
to beat the last bit of sense out of you,
then finally when you are dead,
you sit up ,breathing, in your bed,
you step down, walk across the floor,
carefully you open up the door,
numb by fear you start to shake,
you're haunted by nightmares when you're awake..
